Cairo, Egypt – Al Ahly secured an important 3-1 victory over their hosts, Al Mokawloon Al Arab, in a match played Thursday evening as part of the 21st round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The match began at a slow pace with no serious chances for either side. Then, Al Ahly’s Karim Fouad suffered an early injury in the 8th minute, forcing him to leave the field. As a result, the coaching staff made their first substitution, bringing on Ahmed Eid in his place.
Trezeguet opens the scoring
Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet gave Al Ahly the lead in the 35th minute, capitalizing on a perfectly placed cross from Emam Ashour inside the penalty area. He headed it powerfully into the net, giving the Red Devils a 1-0 advantage.

At the start of the second half, Al Mokawloon tried to get back into the game and scored a goal in the 51st minute. However, the referee disallowed it due to offside after consulting VAR.

Al Mokawloon Al Arab narrowed the gap in the final minutes through Mohamed Salem, igniting the match. However, Hussein El Shahat sealed the victory with a third goal in stoppage time, confirming Al Ahly’s 3-1 win.

With this victory, Al Ahly raised their points tally to 40, temporarily sharing the top spot in the league standings with Pyramids and Zamalek. Meanwhile, Al Mokawloon Al Arab’s points remained at 18, leaving them in 17th place.
