Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Football Federation announced the suspension of all its competitions and sporting activities effective Saturday until further notice. The decision comes in light of the rapidly evolving situation in the region in recent hours.
The federation explained in an official statement that the decision to postpone was made out of concern for public safety, given the current circumstances and the escalating events.
The statement indicated that the new dates for the matches and tournaments will be announced later, according to developments that may occur during the coming period.
The region witnessed rapid developments in recent hours, ending the period of relative calm. For this reason, the federation decided to suspend all sporting activity to ensure the safety of all involved parties.
The statement read: “The Lebanese Football Federation announces the postponement of all matches, tournaments and activities effective today until further notice. This is due to the current circumstances and in the interest of public safety. New dates will be determined later according to developments.”
