Cairo, Egypt – Imam Ashour, a player for Al-Ahly SC, revealed the reasons for his absence from the team’s delegation traveling to Tanzania to face Young Africans in the African Champions League.
Imam Ashour’s sudden absence from the team’s trip, without any clear explanation, and the difficulty club officials have faced in contacting him, has sparked controversy within Egyptian sports circles in recent hours.
In this regard, Imam Ashour explained the reasons for his absence via his official Instagram account, confirming that he is suffering from a severe cold and high fever, along with acute stomach problems, for which he is taking antibiotics.
The Al Ahly player indicated that he had informed Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the team doctor, of his health condition and his inability to travel.
