Cairo, Egypt – Al Ahly player Emam Ashour failed to travel with his team to Tanzania for their CAF Champions League match against Young Africans, an incident that has raised questions within the club.
Al Ahly is scheduled to meet Young Africans next Saturday, as part of the fourth round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
The past few hours have witnessed anger within Al Ahly club after Emam Ashour failed to travel with the team, despite being selected for the match squad by Danish coach Jesse Torp.
The Al Ahly club delegation departed for Tanzania, headed by board member Mohamed El-Damaty, in preparation for the anticipated match against Young Africans.
Al Ahly tops the Group B standings with 7 points, while Young Africans are in second place with 4 points.
