Cairo, Egypt – Sharjah FC of the UAE is close to finalizing a deal to sign Ivorian striker Ibrahim Diabaté from Swedish club GAIS during the current winter transfer window. The deal is estimated to be worth around $2.3 million.
According to Sky Sports, Sharjah FC is in the final stages of completing the signing of the player, despite interest from Leicester City. Sharjah is currently leading the race to secure his signature.
Jace’s willingness to sell his striker comes amid the club’s current financial difficulties, prompting him to capitalize on the transfer fee.
Diabaté joined the Swedish team at the beginning of 2025, and participated in 33 matches during which he scored 19 goals in various competitions.
The player had previously been linked with a move to Al Ahly of Egypt. Advanced negotiations took place before Sharjah came close to finalizing the deal.
