The Senegalese Football Federation issued an official statement, warning its fans ahead of the anticipated match against the Egyptian national team, in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Morocco.
Egypt and Senegal are scheduled to meet next Wednesday, January 14, at the Grand Stade de Tanger, in a crucial match to secure a place in the final.
The Senegalese Federation explained in its statement that fans are required to adhere to responsible behavior and sportsmanship inside and around the stadium, in accordance with the regulations of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The statement emphasized the complete ban on the use of flares, laser pointers, or any other devices that could endanger the safety of players, technical staff, and fans. It stressed that such actions constitute a direct security threat and damage the image of Senegalese football both continentally and internationally.
The federation pointed out that the Senegalese national team had previously been subjected to disciplinary sanctions from CAF following incidents in two previous matches against Benin and Mali, calling on fans to avoid repeating such violations.
The federation called on the fans of the “Lions of Teranga” to support their national team in a civilized and disciplined manner, befitting the prestige of the tournament and preserving its festive atmosphere. It emphasized that true support lies in adhering to the rules and regulations governing the competitions.
