After Swiss Jean Christen won the Tour of AlUla title.
Meanwhile, Portuguese Antonio Morgado continued his distinguished performances in the Challenge Mallorca races in Spain.
In the Tour of AlUla on Monday, Kristen clinched victory in the fifth stage and the overall title of the race, despite entering the final day 33 seconds behind the lead.
The 21-year-old cyclist made up the difference in a one-on-one attack with less than 10 kilometres to go on the finish line.
He passed first with a time of 3:36:05 hours, 32 seconds ahead of his closest competitor in the overall standings.
Dragan of Emirates-XRG climbed to the podium in the same stage.
Igor Arrieta finished third in the stage, 32 seconds behind, and finished third in the final overall standings, 21 seconds behind.
The team came at the top of the overall team standings.
Kevin Vermeerke finished eighth in the stage, 39 seconds behind, and eleventh overall, by the same margin.
In Spain, Antonio Morgado continued his brilliance in the Challenge Mallorca races, after finishing the Trofeo Andrach-Bolinsa race in fourth place with a time of 2:58:34 hours.
This is the same time as the Belgian winner Remco Evenipol “Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe”.
Morgado finished runner-up to Evenipol in the Trofeo Serra Tramuntana, after winning the Trofeo Calvia over the weekend.
To confirm the stability of his level in various races.
With these results, the Emirates-XRG team continues its strong start to the new season.
