Rabat – Morocco qualified for the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Cameroon 2-0 in their match on Friday evening.

The match was hosted at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, as part of the quarter-final round of the continental championship.

Morocco started the match with clear attacking pressure, dominating the flow of the game before opening the scoring in the 26th minute through Brahim Diaz.

The goal came after a corner kick taken by Achraf Hakimi from the right side, which was met by Ayoub El Kaabi with a header that reached Ibrahim Diaz, who put the ball into the net with a powerful shot to the right of the goal.

In the second half, the Moroccan team continued their dominance and control of the game’s tempo. They managed to score their second goal in the 74th minute through Ismail Saïbari.

The goal came after a header from Nayef Aguerd inside the penalty area, which Sibari met with a left-footed shot that found the back of the net.

The Moroccan team maintained their lead until the final whistle. Cameroon failed to reduce the deficit, and the match ended with Morocco winning 2-0.

With this result, Morocco secures its place in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations. They now await the winner of the Algeria-Nigeria match.
