Rabat, Morocco – Algeria secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Sudan in their Africa Cup of Nations 2025 match, held in Morocco on Wednesday evening.
The Algerian national team met Sudan at the “Prince Moulay Hassan” stadium, as part of the first round of the group stage of the African Cup of Nations.
The Algerian national team took the lead early, scoring in the second minute of the first half through Riyad Mahrez.
The goal came after he received a pass from Hicham Boudaoui inside the penalty area, controlled it, and shot the ball directly into the net.

With that result, Algeria earned their first three points, topping Group E. Sudan remained without points.
Burkina Faso turns the tables on Equatorial Guinea
In the same group, Burkina Faso achieved an exciting victory over Equatorial Guinea by two goals to one.
Equatorial Guinea took the lead in the 85th minute through Marvin Aneboh. The goal came despite being down to ten men after Basilio Ndong’s dismissal in the 50th minute.
Meanwhile, Burkina Faso turned the tide and scored the equalizer in the 90+5 minute. Then they scored a second goal in the 90+8 minute, ending the match in their favor.
