Tel Aviv, Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Iran’s rebuilding of its military and strategic capabilities would have “grave and dangerous” consequences. He asserted that ignoring this issue could lead to a wider escalation that threatens the stability of the entire Middle East.
Netanyahu said that Tehran, in his estimation, seeks to exploit any lull or international preoccupation to regroup and bolster its military influence. He emphasized that Israel will not stand idly by in the face of what he described as a “direct threat to its national security.”
He added that preventing Iran from regaining its capabilities must remain an international priority. He called on the international community to take a firmer stance and not merely issue statements. He also warned that inaction would give Tehran more room to develop its tools of pressure and influence in the region.
Netanyahu indicated that his country reserves the right to defend itself by all means. He also affirmed that Israel will continue to closely monitor Iranian movements, and that any shift in the balance of power will be met with an appropriate response.
