AFP – The Detroit Pistons continued their impressive run this season, securing their 13th consecutive victory in the NBA. They edged out the Indiana Pacers 122-117 in a thrilling match that went down to the wire.
The Pistons improved their record to 15 wins and 2 losses, equaling their longest winning streak in franchise history, a feat they achieved twice before, during the 1989-90 and 2003-04 seasons, when they won the league title in both. This brings back memories of the team’s strength during its golden era.
Star player Caid Cunningham delivered, scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. After the game, he expressed his pride in this exceptional performance, emphasizing that the team “plays for Detroit’s legacy and rich history.”
Caris LeVert also made a strong contribution off the bench, scoring 19 points. Jaylen Dorin added 17 points and 12 rebounds. The team secured the victory despite a late attempt by Canadian Benedict Mathurin, who missed a game-winning three-pointer with 11 seconds remaining.
In other games, Brandon Ingram scored a season-high 37 points, leading the Toronto Raptors to a 110-99 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers and extending their winning streak to eight games.
Meanwhile, Serbian Nikola Jokic continued his impressive form with the Denver Nuggets, recording another triple-double with 17 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds in a 125-115 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
