Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The National Paralympic Committee announced the UAE’s participation with 4 players in the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.
Which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the period from 7 to 21 November.
Dhiban Salem Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Committee, stressed that the UAE’s participation in the session confirms the Committee’s keenness to consolidate the status of sports for people with disabilities at the continental and international levels.
In addition to enhancing the achievements she has made in various sports forums.
He explained that the UAE delegation includes 4 players, two male players and two female players, namely Mohammed Khamis and Salem Al Shehhi in power lifts, and Moza Al Zayoudi and Haifa Al Naqbi in athletics.
He expressed his confidence in the players’ ability to achieve outstanding results that would be added to the state’s balance.
After the UAE Paralympic team previously won two medals in the bow and arrow during the last tournament held in Turkey in 2022.
He added that the next stage will witness broad participation of UAE athletes in a number of important events.
He pointed out that the recent achievements reflect the remarkable development in players’ performance.
The most prominent of these is that Al Kaabi won the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships and achieved a world record time.
In addition to Mohamed Othman winning the bronze medal in the same tournament.
