London, UK – A recent report by the Community Security Trust in the UK revealed a significant increase in anti-Semitic incidents. The rate reached one-fifth the rate recorded during the same period last year. Notably, this surge followed the US-Israeli war on Iran and the stabbing of two Jewish men in London.
Official data and a significant increase in attacks
Official data from the report, cited by the British news agency PA Media, revealed 1,926 antisemitic incidents across the UK between January and June 2026. This represents a significant increase compared to the 1,598 incidents recorded during the first half of the previous year. Moreover, this is the second-highest total ever recorded by the Community Safety Trust for the first six months of any year. It was surpassed only by the record 2,019 incidents recorded in the first half of 2024.
Sporadic attacks and arson in London
The first months of 2026 saw a disturbing series of violent attacks targeting Jewish sites and properties in London. These attacks included arson attacks on vital Jewish locations, including four privately owned ambulances belonging to the Jewish community.
