New Delhi, India – Several people were killed and others injured in a violent collision between a passenger bus and a truck on a highway in India, in yet another incident highlighting the country’s recurring deadly road accidents.
Indian authorities reported that the accident resulted in nine deaths and 12 injuries, bringing the total number of victims to 21. The bus, carrying dozens of passengers, collided with the truck while traveling on the highway, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Immediately after the accident, ambulance and police teams rushed to the scene. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were recovered and the necessary legal procedures were initiated.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Initial indications suggest that excessive speed or loss of control by one of the vehicles may have been the cause of the collision. However, no official confirmation has yet been issued.
India has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world, due to heavy traffic and the poor condition of some roads. This, along with driving violations, has prompted authorities to intensify awareness campaigns and strengthen road safety measures to reduce casualties.
