Recent technical leaks have revealed that Apple has decided to abandon one of the most prominent security features in its upcoming foldable phone, the iPhone Fold.

This led to a wave of controversy among fans of the American brand

who had been eagerly awaiting the device.

According to reports published by “MacRumors,” a website specializing in Apple news,

The company decided not to equip the new phone with Face ID facial recognition technology.

Key elements of iPhone identity

The security feature has been one of the most important elements of

the iPhone identity since its launch – for the first time – in 2017 with the phone X.

The sources explained that the reason behind this decision

is due to the design of the foldable screen.

This makes it difficult to integrate facial recognition technology sensors

without affecting screen flexibility and display quality.

Alternatively, Apple plans to rely on a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.

This is similar to what is available in modern iPad Air and iPad mini devices.

This move represents a rare concession from Apple.

Experts believe this move could be seen as a rare concession

from Apple regarding the high security standards for which it is known.

This is in order to offer a new design experience that meets the demands

of competing with companies like Samsung and Huawei.

Which are leading the foldable phone market.

Apple is expected to officially unveil the iPhone Fold in 2026.

With a flexible screen size exceeding 7 inches

and an innovative design based on advanced hinges.

On the other hand, the absence of the Face ID feature may be

a disappointment to some users who see it as one of the distinguishing features of iPhones.
