Kuwait – The Kuwaiti Army General Staff announced early Thursday morning that air defense systems are currently engaging hostile missile and drone attacks, describing the escalation as a “heinous Iranian aggression.” The General Staff explained that the sounds of explosions heard in various parts of the country are a result of the successful interception of these hostile attacks. Furthermore, it urged everyone to fully comply with the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities to ensure public safety.
Attacks continue for the second day in a row
This latest attack follows a similar escalation early Wednesday morning. The Kuwaiti military confirmed that the country was attacked with missiles and drones, and that its air defenses successfully intercepted the hostile targets. This comes amid recent tensions related to tit-for-tat strikes in the region.
Iranian attacks target Erbil and Aqaba
In the same context, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced it had carried out extensive ballistic missile and drone attacks targeting US bases in the Iraqi city of Erbil, including the Harir base. The Revolutionary Guard also claimed to have targeted the Jordanian city of Aqaba. Furthermore, it announced strikes that resulted in the deaths of US soldiers.
In contrast, the Jordanian army denied any casualties, asserting that its forces intercepted ten Iranian missiles. Three other missiles landed in open areas without causing any significant damage, according to Al-Ghad TV. This discrepancy reflects the broader regional escalation and its direct repercussions on the security of neighboring countries.
