Warning of a threat to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz
The resolution included an explicit condemnation of any actions or threats by Iran aimed at disrupting or obstructing international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime energy transit routes.
The Council affirmed that any interference with international shipping could have serious repercussions for global energy security and economic stability. It also called for ensuring freedom of navigation in international waterways in accordance with applicable laws and agreements.
