Manama, Bahrain – The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced in an urgent statement today, Wednesday, that the Royal Air Defense Forces are engaged in continuous and intense engagements to counter successive waves of Iranian “terrorist and malicious” attacks targeting the security and stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This comes within the context of the broader military escalation witnessed in the region.

The toll of air interceptions

The General Command revealed detailed statistics on countermeasures since the start of the brutal attack. It confirmed the success of the air defense forces in intercepting and destroying 106 ballistic missiles and 177 (suicide) drones, which were aimed at vital areas and civilian targets within the Kingdom.

It explained that the high level of vigilance of the air defense systems prevented major losses. It also emphasized that military operations to defend the nation’s airspace continue with high combat efficiency.

Violation of international law and a threat to peace

The Bahrain News Agency (BNA) quoted the General Command as affirming that the deliberate use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilians and private property constitutes a “flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter.”

The statement added that these indiscriminate attacks target not only Bahrain but also pose a direct threat to regional security and peace, aiming to destabilize the region at a highly sensitive time.

Maximum combat readiness

The Bahrain Defense Force emphasized that it will take all necessary measures to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents. It also affirmed that these attacks will only strengthen the armed forces’ resolve to fulfill their sacred duty.

This statement comes at a time of heightened tension in the region following the outbreak of the full-scale confrontation in Iran on February 28. In this context, Tehran has expanded its targeting to reach deep into the Gulf region and threaten international shipping lanes.

The authorities called on citizens to exercise caution and adhere to instructions issued by security agencies. They also affirmed that the situation is under complete control thanks to the combined efforts of the military and security forces in the country.
