Aden, Yemen – The Yemeni Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights denied on Monday, December 29, 2025, the veracity of reports and allegations circulating about human rights violations in the governorates of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra. It affirmed that these claims lack any valid legal or human rights basis.
systematic disinformation campaign
In an official statement, a copy of which was obtained by “Sawt Al Emarat,” the ministry expressed its deep concern regarding what it described as a “systematic disinformation campaign.” This campaign, led by organizations and networks, involves the dissemination of fabricated reports that have been promoted through social media platforms.
The statement stressed that the aim of these reports is to create confusion and distort the facts, far removed from the reality on the ground.
Lack of official statements
The ministry confirmed that it had not received any official complaints or reports regarding alleged violations in the two governorates. It noted that its established legal and human rights channels had not recorded any significant violations, thus refuting the claims being circulated in the media.
Call for investigation and legal accountability
The ministry issued a clear appeal to media outlets and human rights organizations, urging them to be accurate, credible, and to adhere to professional standards. It also called on them to refrain from engaging with content that lacks objectivity or aims to incite violence.
The ministry concluded its statement by affirming that it “will take all legal measures” to protect the credibility of human rights work. It will also counter attempts at disinformation and incitement, thereby preserving social peace and serving the supreme national interest.
