Aden, Yemen – The administrative body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council held its regular meeting today, Wednesday, chaired by Essam Abdo Ali, Vice President of the Assembly.
At the outset of the meeting, the body commended the peaceful political and popular movement taking place in the capital, Aden, and throughout the southern governorates. This is part of the national process aimed at restoring and building the state of South Arabia and consolidating its political and institutional foundations. This process fulfills the aspirations of the people of the South to determine their own destiny.
The administrative body reiterated its appreciation for the political and community efforts undertaken by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, in Hadramawt Governorate. These efforts aim to strengthen southern unity and cohesion, and to preserve national and security gains, thereby contributing to consolidating stability and confronting challenges.
The Authority also commended the ongoing peaceful demonstrations and sit-ins in the squares of the southern governorates and districts. It affirmed its full support for these popular movements, which express the free will of the South. The Authority praised the efforts of the Southern Transitional Council’s bodies and departments, as well as its working groups, in organizing and ensuring the success of these demonstrations.
In another development, the administrative body endorsed the Southern Armed Forces’ statement regarding the launch of Operation “Decisive” in Abyan Governorate. This operation is a continuation of the “Arrows of the East” operation, aimed at combating terrorism. It also seeks to enhance security and stability and sever the supply lines of terrorist elements.
The committee also listened to a report from the National Assembly’s Martyrs and Wounded Committee regarding the conditions of the families of martyrs and the wounded. The report addressed mechanisms for strengthening policies of care and attention to them, with the aim of continuing efforts to improve the level of services provided to them in a manner commensurate with the magnitude of their sacrifices.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the board discussed the reports submitted by the association’s committees regarding the performance level for the current year 2025. It also addressed ways to develop institutional work, in addition to starting to prepare work plans for the coming year 2026. These plans aim to enhance the national role of the National Assembly.
