Krasnodar, Russia – A fire broke out in a 2,000 cubic meter fuel depot in the Krasnodar region where Sochi is located, the RIA news agency quoted emergency officials as saying.

Local governor Veniamin Kondratiev said more than 120 firefighters were trying to put out a fire at an oil depot in the Russian city of Sochi caused by a Ukrainian drone attack.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in its daily report on Telegram that air defense units destroyed 93 Ukrainian drones overnight, one of them over the Krasnodar region and 60 over the Black Sea.

The ministry’s report mentions the number of drones destroyed by air defense units, not the number launched by Ukraine.

The Russian Civil Aviation Authority (Rosaviatsia) reported on Telegram that flights were temporarily suspended at the city’s airport to ensure air safety. But it returned and stated that flights resumed at 02:00 GMT on Sunday.

Kondratiev said the attack in the Adler district of the coastal city is Ukraine’s latest on infrastructure inside Russia, which Kiev considers essential to Moscow’s war effort.
