Amman, Jordan – King Abdullah II of Jordan departed the Kingdom on Sunday for an official visit to the United Arab Emirates. During the visit, he will meet with his brother, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. Discussions will focus on historic bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them across various fields, as well as current regional developments of mutual interest.
His Majesty the King is accompanied on this visit by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. These meetings take place within the framework of ongoing coordination between the two brotherly nations regarding various Arab and international issues. In a related development, HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Deputy to His Majesty the King. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Cabinet to ensure the continuity of official and constitutional functions during the king’s absence from the country.
