Algiers—Algeria has strongly condemned the drone attack targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which struck the East-West oil pipeline, affirming its solidarity with the Kingdom and its rejection of attacks on vital facilities. Algeria also emphasized that targeting infrastructure and oil facilities poses a threat to the Kingdom’s security and regional stability. It further stressed the necessity of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity and of avoiding any actions that endanger civilian and vital facilities.
Algeria’s position comes amidst escalating security tensions in the region and growing concerns that attacks targeting energy facilities could spread. There is also increasing anxiety regarding the potential repercussions of these attacks on supply security and global markets. Algeria has emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue and political solutions, stressing the need to contain the escalation in a manner that preserves regional security and stability and spares the region’s peoples from further tension.
