Cairo – Egypt – The Secretary-General of the Arab League affirmed the bloc’s firm rejection of using the territory of any Arab state as a launchpad for attacks or actions that compromise the security and stability of another Arab country.
Respecting Sovereignty and Preventing Incursions
The Secretary-General emphasized the League’s steadfast position against any activities targeting member states, underscoring the absolute necessity of respecting national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference principles.
He noted that upholding the political independence of nations serves as a vital safeguard against expanding regional friction, calling on all parties to adhere strictly to relevant Arab and international charters.
Fostering Solidarity and Safeguarding Stability
The General Secretariat stated that preserving regional stability requires preventing any national territory from becoming an arena for cross-border operations, thereby shielding regional populations from escalating conflict while reinforcing collective Arab solidarity.
The bloc added that current regional challenges demand enhanced security coordination among member states to cultivate a stable environment that protects national security and prevents the erosion of state authority.
