Tehran, Iran – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the need to continue diplomatic efforts aimed at fostering understanding between Tehran and Washington, amid escalating tensions in the region. During their talks, both sides stressed the importance of maintaining channels of dialogue and avoiding steps that could lead to further escalation. They also affirmed that negotiation remains the best option for resolving existing differences. Sharif reiterated his country’s support for any efforts that contribute to bridging the gap between Iran and the United States. He also noted that regional stability requires intensified political action and a move away from confrontation.
For his part, Pezeshkian explained that Tehran is ready to continue the path of understanding. However, he stressed the necessity for the American side to adhere to any agreements reached. He affirmed that his country prefers diplomatic solutions and seeks to avoid a new confrontation. These positions reflect the ongoing regional efforts to maintain the negotiating track between Tehran and Washington. This comes amid concerns that a breakdown in dialogue could escalate tensions and negatively impact the security and stability of the Middle East.
