Baghdad – The Iraqi Prime Minister called on members of the Council of Representatives to actively exercise their oversight responsibilities in support of government anti-corruption initiatives. Consequently, this call emphasizes the necessity of institutional alignment between the executive and legislative branches to enhance public fund protections and administrative accountability.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted that combatting systemic corruption requires broad inter-institutional cooperation extending beyond traditional oversight bodies. As a result, lawmakers were urged to closely monitor ministry performances, expose administrative irregularities, and reinforce procedural mechanisms designed to preserve state assets.

Dismantling Corruption Networks and Administrative Governance

On the other hand, government efforts center on eliminating the root causes of financial irregularities by reforming administrative protocols and preventing recurring operational breaches. Specifically, measures focus on tightening oversight over public expenditure frameworks and improving transparency across state transactions.

Additionally, political observers note that an active legislative oversight role serves as a vital deterrence mechanism to hold officials accountable and optimize fiscal resources. Consequently, structured coordination between Parliament, the executive cabinet, and anti-corruption agencies remains central to enhancing institutional efficiency.

Finally, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s appeal to Parliament underscores the importance of legislative scrutiny in driving governance reforms. Ultimately, effective inter-branch cooperation and sustained oversight will determine the long-term success of anti-corruption strategies in Iraq.
