Tel Aviv, Israel – Israeli media outlets reported that Israel has approved large-scale offensive military operations in various parts of the West Bank. This is part of a security plan aimed at expanding the scope of military activity in the coming period.
The reports stated that the plan includes intensifying raids and incursions in a number of Palestinian cities and towns. In addition, the deployment of Israeli forces is being reinforced. Additional units are being sent to participate in the operations as well. The aim is to pursue those whom Israel describes as “wanted.” Moreover, the goal is to thwart any potential attacks.
She added that the decision followed a series of security assessments conducted by military and security leaders. This occurred amid escalating security tensions and ongoing clashes in several areas of the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Palestinian sources warned that expanding military operations would lead to further escalation. They emphasized that continued raids and arrests would exacerbate tensions. This would negatively impact the humanitarian and security situation in the Palestinian territories.
The West Bank has witnessed an escalation in military operations and clashes for months. This has happened despite repeated regional and international calls to contain the tension and prevent the violence from spreading further. Such efforts would also contribute to maintaining stability in the region.
