Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks targeting the sisterly state of Kuwait using drones, describing these assaults as a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a direct threat to regional peace and security. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast and unwavering stance alongside Kuwait against any attempts to destabilize its security, emphasizing that such escalation puts the entire region’s stability at stake.
The UAE renewed its full solidarity with the Kuwaiti leadership and people, declaring unlimited support for all measures taken by Kuwaiti authorities to protect their security and maintain their sovereignty. The statement noted that such hostile acts require a firm international response to address the sources of threat and ensure the prevention of further attacks targeting vital facilities and civilians.
Firm GCC Solidarity and Shared Destiny
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Kuwait’s security is an integral part of the collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It stressed that any compromise to Kuwait’s safety is a direct threat to the UAE and the rest of the region. MoFA added that the cohesion of the Gulf front against terrorist threats remains the primary pillar for maintaining stability in the Middle East, especially given the increasing use of advanced technologies like drones in sabotage operations.
Furthermore, the Ministry pointed out that this dangerous escalation undermines all regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and promoting dialogue. The UAE considered the targeting of Kuwaiti territory a desperate attempt to shake confidence in regional security, asserting that the “shared destiny” among Gulf brothers is stronger than any attempts to undermine the safety and stability of the region’s people.
Rejecting Violence and Calling for Comprehensive Diplomatic Solutions
The UAE reaffirmed its firm stance against all forms of violence and terrorism, regardless of their source or motives, stressing the need to respect the UN Charter and international law, which prohibits attacks on state sovereignty. MoFA called for restraint and the avoidance of further escalation during this critical stage, highlighting the importance of concerted international efforts to counter the danger of terrorist groups and the parties supporting them with drone technology.
In conclusion, the UAE urged the international community to work seriously toward finding comprehensive diplomatic solutions to current crises, preserving regional security away from the language of weapons and threats. The Ministry emphasized that dialogue and commitment to international principles are the only path to ensuring a safe and stable future for future generations, free from the specter of terrorism and cross-border attacks.
