Manama, Bahrain – Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al-Zayani asserted that the credibility of the UN Security Council is at stake, given the current challenges and rapid developments in the region. He also called for more effective international action to maintain security and stability.

Criticism of the lack of international resolve

The Bahraini Foreign Minister pointed out that the Security Council’s inability to make decisive decisions on pressing issues raises questions about its role and effectiveness, especially in light of threats to regional and international security.

A call to take responsibility

The Bahraini Foreign Minister stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities and work collectively to confront the challenges, in order to protect common interests and promote global stability.

The importance of urgent action

The Bahraini Foreign Minister called for urgent and effective action within the Security Council to restore confidence in its institutions. He also demanded assurances that the Council could deal with current crises efficiently and impartially.
