In the 29th minute, the post denied Omar Marmoush the opening goal for Egypt, after a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, thus missing the Pharaohs’ most dangerous chance in the first half, which ended in a goalless draw.
As the second half began, attempts continued from both sides, with Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet firing a powerful shot from the edge of the area that went just past the post, before Firmin Lopez responded with another shot that Shobeir brilliantly saved.
