Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory since March 2 has reached 1,238, with 3,543 injured.
This comes amid continued military escalation and a deteriorating humanitarian situation in several affected areas.
Continuous rise in the number of victims
The ministry explained that the recorded figures reflect a significant increase in the number of dead and wounded in recent weeks.
This resulted from the intensification of Israeli military operations and the targeting of populated areas,
leading to a large number of civilian casualties.
Increasing pressure on the health sector
She noted that hospitals and medical centers are facing immense pressure due to the increasing number of cases.
There are also challenges related to shortages of medical supplies and personnel.
This threatens the health sector’s ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
Fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis
In this context, medical and humanitarian organizations warned of the repercussions of continued Israeli escalation.
They emphasized that the deteriorating situation on the ground could lead to a wider humanitarian crisis.
The danger is exacerbated by damage to infrastructure and the difficulty of delivering aid to some affected areas.
