Doha, Qatar – The Qatari Cabinet renewed its condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attacks that targeted the country and a number of Gulf states and Jordan.
It demanded their immediate cessation and adherence to the provisions of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
A firm stance against escalation
During its meeting, the Council affirmed that these attacks constitute
a blatant violation of the principles of sovereignty and good neighborliness.
Furthermore, they pose a direct threat to the security and stability of the region.
It stressed the necessity of respecting international norms and working to avoid any actions that could exacerbate regional tensions.
Qatar is making diplomatic moves to contain the crisis
The Council noted that the State of Qatar continues its tireless efforts,
in coordination with its regional and international partners,
to support endeavors aimed at finding diplomatic solutions to end the escalation.
It explained that these efforts aim to enhance regional stability, ensure respect for the sovereignty of states,
and avert further serious repercussions for the peoples of the region.
A call to prioritize dialogue and peaceful solutions
The Qatari Cabinet emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue and peaceful means in addressing crises.
This approach thereby contributes to reducing tensions and achieving regional and international security.
It also stressed the need to intensify international efforts to prevent
the region from sliding into further escalation, given the current circumstances.
