Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the interception and destruction of six drones in the Eastern Province. It confirmed that air defenses successfully engaged the targets.
The Saudi Press Agency quoted the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki al-Maliki, as saying that air defense systems detected and engaged the drones before they reached their targets.
Details of the interception process
The Ministry of Defense spokesperson explained that the drones were intercepted and destroyed in the airspace of the Eastern Province. This was part of the defensive measures taken by the Saudi Armed Forces to protect airspace and vital installations.
He confirmed that air defense systems detected the drones as soon as they entered Saudi airspace and dealt with them immediately according to established military procedures.

Al-Maliki noted that the Saudi armed forces maintain a high level of readiness to deal with any potential threats. This ensures the protection of the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
He added that air defense systems operate in close coordination with advanced monitoring and surveillance systems. This aims to detect and engage any hostile targets in a timely manner.
