Manama, Bahrain – Bahraini authorities announced that more than 20,000 volunteers registered within hours of opening registration to participate in efforts to support state institutions and address the repercussions of the recent Iranian attacks. This move reflects the state of popular and official mobilization in the country.
Official sources stated that the initiative aims to enhance national preparedness and provide logistical and service support to relevant authorities, particularly in the ambulance, civil defense, and humanitarian services sectors, in light of escalating security tensions in the region.
The relevant authorities explained that the high turnout for volunteering reflects the spirit of national solidarity among citizens and residents. It also highlights their readiness to contribute to supporting government efforts to maintain the security and stability of the country during this critical period.
The authorities confirmed that volunteer programs will include training in handling emergencies and providing support to service institutions. This will be in addition to participating in relief efforts and community mobilization should the circumstances require it.
This initiative comes at a time when the Gulf region is witnessing unprecedented tensions. There has been an escalation in attacks and security threats, prompting several countries to raise their levels of preparedness.
