Manama, Bahrain – The National Communication Centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain confirmed that vital sites and facilities within the Kingdom’s borders were subjected to treacherous attacks launched from outside Bahraini territory. The Centre described these attacks as a “blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and national security,” noting that the relevant security and military authorities immediately implemented emergency plans and took the necessary field measures to address the situation.
Government condemnation and the guaranteed right of reply
The Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain issued a strongly worded statement condemning these attacks, emphasizing that they constitute a direct threat to the security of citizens and residents and the integrity of Bahraini territory. The government stressed that it “reserves its full right to respond and take all necessary measures to protect its national security and preserve its sovereignty,” in close coordination with its regional and international allies and partners, referring to joint defense commitments.
The statement added that precise details regarding the nature of the targets affected and the military outcomes will be announced later by the relevant authorities, as dictated by national interest and security requirements. Authorities reassured the public that “the situation is under control,” noting that all established preventive and organizational measures have been activated to ensure the safety of lives and property, and that radar and airspace monitoring continues closely to address any renewed threats.
A call for caution and obtaining official information.
Amid the heightened state of alert, the National Communication Center stressed the need for citizens and residents to exercise the utmost vigilance and caution, and to refrain from spreading rumors or sharing unreliable videos and images on social media. The Center urged everyone to obtain information only from official and accredited sources, thereby strengthening community security and preserving stability during these exceptional circumstances facing the region.
These attacks come at a time when regional tensions have reached a peak following the launch of Operation Lion’s Roar, a joint military operation between Washington and Tel Aviv against Iran. This has placed Bahrain—which hosts international strategic facilities—directly in the crosshairs of the conflict, amid international warnings of the region sliding into a full-blown confrontation with unpredictable consequences.
