Cairo, Egypt – The Egyptian presidency announced that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during their meeting in Jeddah, stressed the importance of avoiding escalation and tension in the region. They also emphasized the need to prioritize political solutions and support peaceful resolutions to crises through dialogue.

In an official statement, the presidency said that both sides affirmed their commitment to regional stability in light of current challenges. They also stressed that the present phase requires restraint and avoiding any steps that could escalate tensions.
The statement noted the convergence of views between Cairo and Riyadh on the priority of working to de-escalate tensions. Furthermore, the statement called for intensified diplomatic efforts to resolve existing conflicts peacefully.
