Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of the new Deputy Prime Minister, ministers, and deputy ministers at the Presidential Palace this morning, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. The new cabinet includes key portfolios such as Defense and Military Production, Health, Transport, Local Development, Foreign Affairs, Housing, Higher Education, Investment, Information, and Youth and Sports. It also includes deputy ministers in various ministries. One of the most notable surprises was the appointment of Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher as Minister of Defense in the new government, succeeding Lieutenant General Abdel Meguid Saqr.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, indicated that Presidential Decree No. (75) of 2026 abolished the Ministry of Public Business Sector. Furthermore, the Prime Minister was tasked with issuing the necessary decrees regarding the implications of this decision. During the meeting following the swearing-in ceremony, President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of efficient performance, human resource development, continued institutional reform, and the role of the media in raising awareness and combating rumors. He also stressed his full support for the government in achieving the public good. A commemorative photograph was taken of the President with the Deputy Prime Minister, the ministers, and the new deputy ministers after the swearing-in ceremony.
