Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah affirmed on Monday that relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are a crucial element in supporting regional stability. He also emphasized the importance of coordination and joint cooperation between the two countries in confronting the challenges facing the region. The Saudi Foreign Minister’s remarks came during an interview reported by Arab media outlets, including Al Arabiya, amidst rapidly evolving regional developments and complex political and security issues in the Middle East.

Highlights
  • Saudi-American contact regarding regional developments
  • Saudi-Omani consultations on regional issues
  • Saudi-Emirati relations are at the heart of the regional equation.

Saudi-American contact regarding regional developments

As part of Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts, Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed the latest regional and international developments and the efforts being made to address them in a telephone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the call also addressed ways to enhance joint coordination between Riyadh and Washington on issues of mutual interest. In addition, political and security developments in the region were discussed.

Saudi-Omani consultations on regional issues

On another front, the Saudi Foreign Minister held a telephone conversation with the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi. During the call, they reviewed the latest developments in the region and the diplomatic efforts underway to achieve de-escalation and stability. According to the Saudi Press Agency, both sides emphasized the importance of continued consultation and coordination among the countries of the region to support regional security. They also stressed the need to promote political solutions to the existing crises.

Saudi-Emirati relations are at the heart of the regional equation.

Saudi-Emirati relations carry significant political and strategic weight in the region, given the two countries’ pivotal roles in regional issues, including Gulf security, energy market stability, and addressing political crises in the Middle East. Observers believe that Riyadh’s emphasis on the importance of this relationship reflects both countries’ commitment to maintaining an effective strategic partnership. Despite occasional differences of opinion on certain issues, the relationship is guided by a broader vision focused on safeguarding regional stability.
