Tehran, Iran – In an unprecedentedly escalating message to Washington, Iranian authorities unveiled a massive mural in the heart of Tehran bearing a direct warning to US President Donald Trump and the American leadership: “He who sows the wind reaps the whirlwind.” This warning hints at a lasting and violent response should any military strike be launched against Iran. The mural, located in Revolution Square (Enghelab Square) in the Iranian capital, depicts a destroyed US aircraft carrier with burning planes scattered about and bodies strewn across its deck. Blood flows into the water, forming, in the distance, the pattern of the American flag with its red, white, and starry stripes. This scene is among the most intensely symbolic in the escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington.
The unveiling of this controversial mural coincided with the deployment of a US fleet, led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, to the region’s waters. Tehran described the move as provocative and warned it could provoke a harsh response if necessary. The mural carries a clear political message: any US strike will be met with a “retaliatory storm.” Those who initiate war could find themselves facing a response beyond their expectations. From the US side, Trump stated that the military deployment in the region is a “precautionary measure” should circumstances require military action. Meanwhile, tensions between the two sides continue to escalate over sensitive issues in the region.
