Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday that the US document outlining security guarantees for Ukraine is fully prepared. He noted that Kyiv is awaiting confirmation of the date and location for its signing by its international partners.
Speaking at a press conference in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius,
alongside Polish President Andrzej Daudkowicz, Zelensky stated that these guarantees are a top priority for Ukraine.
He confirmed that the document is 100% complete. After its signing,
it will be sent to both the US Congress and the Ukrainian Parliament for ratification.
Facing the challenges
The Ukrainian president added that the document aims to strengthen Ukraine’s national security
and support it in the face of ongoing regional challenges.
He emphasized that cooperation with the United States and its allies will continue.
This will provide the necessary political, military, and security support to ensure the country’s stability.
This announcement comes as both Zelensky and Davutočić are on official visits to Lithuania.
There, the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen regional and security partnerships in Eastern Europe.
This move is aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s position against any potential threats.
diplomatic effort
Reuters confirmed that the US document is part of a broader diplomatic effort to strengthen international support for Ukraine.
This includes military, economic, and political coordination with Western countries.
This comes given the ongoing conflict in the region and its impact on European security.
Zelensky indicated that the signing of the document marks a new stage in the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States.
He expressed his hope that these guarantees will contribute to strengthening stability.
They might also help reduce security risks for the country in the near future.
