Rabat, Morocco – King Mohammed VI of Morocco sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Moroccan national football team on the occasion of their reaching the final match of the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025”, praising the heroic performance and outstanding journey the team has made throughout the tournament.

Praise for team spirit and strategic vision

In his message, King Mohammed VI stated: “Through this distinguished journey, you have proven that perseverance, dedication, and teamwork are the path to achieving success. You have presented the world with a model of what Moroccan and African youth can accomplish when they are armed with confidence in their talents and abilities.” The King of Morocco also affirmed that this honorable performance is tangible proof of the effectiveness of the Kingdom’s strategic vision in investing in human capital and modernizing infrastructure—a readiness demonstrated by the Kingdom in its preparations to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco succeeds in its organizational gamble

The Moroccan monarch explained that the Kingdom’s success in hosting the tournament, with its high-quality organization and warm hospitality reflecting longstanding Moroccan values, is “a message of hope and confidence from Morocco to its continent, confirming that African talent is capable of excellence and innovation in all fields.” Mohammed VI concluded his message by praising the passionate Moroccan fans who enthusiastically supported the team, urging the players and technical staff to continue their efforts to bring honor to Moroccan football in future international competitions.

Senegal snatches the title in extra time

It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team was very close to embracing the coveted cup, before the Senegalese team succeeded in securing the title in their favor with a score of (1-0) after resorting to extra time in the final match that took place on Sunday evening, so that the “Lions of Teranga” were crowned with the second title in their history.
