Tehran, Iran – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi ruled out on Friday the possibility of a new US or Israeli military attack on his country. He indicated that the US and Israel were attempting to incite violence in the peaceful protests. He also claimed that former US officials had acknowledged the Mossad’s involvement in the protests.
Speaking at a press conference following his visit to the Lebanese capital, Beirut, Araqchi added
that “the developments inside Iran are due to the economic situation.
The government is consulting with various groups to find a solution to the unrest”.
Araghchi stated that the events unfolding in Iran bear a striking resemblance to the developments Lebanon witnessed in 2023.
He attributed this to the soaring prices of hard currency. He emphasized that the country’s stability and the security of its citizens are top priorities.
Regarding the Syrian situation, he said, “We support Syria’s stability
and reject the occupation of its territory. Syria’s stability is crucial for all countries in the region”.
Araghchi had begun an official visit to Lebanon, during which he met with senior Lebanese officials.
This visit represents “a new chapter and a starting point for strengthening relations
between the two countries in the economic, trade, and political spheres”.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi added that his discussions
with Lebanese officials covered regional issues and ways to counter Israeli threats.
He also reaffirmed Iran’s continued support for Lebanon’s full independence, sovereignty, and national unity.
