Beirut, Lebanon – Lebanese President Michel Aoun affirmed on Tuesday that Israel’s continued attacks in various parts of Lebanon aim to thwart all international and regional efforts to halt the escalation and establish a lasting truce in the region.
In official statements, he explained that the ongoing attacks constitute a direct threat to security and stability in Lebanon. He emphasized that any transgressions or hostile acts will not go unpunished, calling on the international community to intervene immediately. He also demanded that pressure be exerted on Israel to refrain from any further escalatory actions.
Aoun stressed that Lebanon is committed to all diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving regional security. He also affirmed the readiness of the army and security forces to defend the country’s territory and protect its citizens from any external threat.
He indicated that the primary objective of these Israeli escalations is to undermine any opportunity for a comprehensive political solution in the region. He called for a unified Lebanese stance and vigilance in the face of any attempts to destabilize the region.
