Aden, Yemen – Bashir al-Subaihi, commander of the “Homeland Shield” forces, announced a firm stance on Friday regarding the ongoing military escalation in Hadramawt Governorate. He affirmed his forces’ categorical refusal to be drawn into any internal conflicts or to participate in fighting targeting the people of the southern governorates.
Disavowal of the invading forces
In an official statement issued today, Al-Subaihi stressed that the forces carrying out raids in Hadramawt and causing bloodshed “do not represent the nation’s shield and are not affiliated with it.” He clarified that the forces’ position remains steadfast in their support for the people of the south. They also reject the use of weapons against them under any pretext.
The compass points towards Sana’a
Al-Subaihi clearly defined his forces’ strategic direction, stating, “Our only destination is Sana’a.” He also emphasized that the military confrontation is exclusively against the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.
He added in his statement: “We distance ourselves from the ongoing battles in Hadramawt. We will not participate in any internal fighting aimed at tearing apart the ranks or weakening the southern front.”
