Al-Mukalla, Yemen – The Arab Sea Ports Corporation confirmed in an official statement issued today, Tuesday, December 31, 2025, that the port of Al-Mukalla in Hadramawt Governorate has fully resumed its maritime and commercial activities. This comes after a day of tension at the port.
The statement clarified that operations at the port are currently proceeding smoothly. Ships are being received and cargo and containers are being handled according to standard procedures. This ensures the continued flow of essential supplies and goods to the province and surrounding areas.
The port of Mukalla witnessed significant tension following a Saudi bombing raid targeting the port. This led to a temporary halt in some maritime and commercial activities, and raised concerns about its impact on trade and supply lines.
The port of Mukalla is the main and only sea outlet for Hadramawt Governorate on the Arabian Sea. It is also a vital economic artery not only for Hadramawt, but also for the governorates of Shabwa and Al Mahrah, handling commercial goods, containers, oil, and foodstuffs.
The corporation affirmed that the resumption of normal operations reflects the port’s ability to overcome challenges. It also ensures the continuation of trade without significant disruption, despite the ongoing political and military tensions in eastern Yemen.
