Tel Aviv, Israel – Israeli sources have expressed concern about the possibility of a surprise attack by Iran on Israel, following recent missile drills conducted by Tehran. The American news outlet Axios quoted Israeli military officials as saying that the Iranian movements may not be routine exercises, but rather a potential cover for an attack targeting Israeli territory.
In contrast, US intelligence denied any evidence of an imminent Iranian attack. It asserted that its assessments differed from those of Tel Aviv, and that Iran showed no signs of having decided to launch an attack at this time.
These concerns come amid escalating tensions in the region. This tension coincides with Iran’s continued development of its missile capabilities, prompting Israel to raise its military readiness level. Israel has also coordinated with Washington to monitor any potential movements.
