Tel Aviv, Israel – On Thursday, the Israeli army launched a series of airstrikes on various areas in Lebanon, claiming to be targeting sites belonging to the Hezbollah group.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the raids
targeted the riverbed on the southern outskirts of the town of Zawtar in the Nabatieh district.
In addition to the Al-Jabour, Al-Qatrani and Al-Rayhan highlands in the south of the country,
and the Boudai and Al-Harmal highlands in the Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon.
The raids also included the Jorat al-Khader – Kou’ al-Fil area in the vicinity of al-Qatrani,
and Birkat al-Jabour in the vicinity of Kfarhouna in Jezzine in the south of the country.
Israeli drones also launched an attack on a vehicle in the town of Taybeh in the Marjeyoun district.
This resulted in two vehicles catching fire and a number of workers
being injured while at the site, according to the agency.
The targeted truck belonged to the Lebanese Electricity Corporation.
For his part, Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee confirmed
that the raids targeted “a Hezbollah operative in Taybeh,
“In addition to a camp and military buildings belonging to the Lebanese group in various areas,” he said.
