Aden, Yemen – The Southern Armed Forces, affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council, announced on Monday the launch of a large-scale military and security operation called “Decisive” in Abyan Governorate in southern Yemen.
This operation, led by Brigadier General Mohsen Abdullah al-Wali, aims to build upon the objectives of the previous “Arrows of the East” operation. Its goals include establishing security, pursuing terrorist organizations, and cutting off their supply lines in the province.
Details of the participating forces and operation plans
Operation “Decisive” is witnessing broad participation from key military and security units affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council. These include units from the Security Belt Forces and the Support and Reinforcement Forces, led by Brigadier General Nasr Atef al-Yafei, and the Abyan Security Belt, led by Brigadier General Haidera al-Sayed.
The sources confirmed that the operation is being carried out “according to a well-defined plan aimed at dismantling terrorist strongholds and preventing their repositioning” in the province.
The commander of the Security Belt Forces stressed that security in Abyan is a top priority, affirming the forces’ readiness and their continued pursuit of terrorist elements until they are eradicated. This aims to enhance stability and prepare the governorate for a secure development phase.
