Rhode Island, USA – A tragic shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island on Saturday left two people dead and nine others injured, as hundreds of police officers continue to pursue the suspect who remains at large.
The incident occurred in the Baros and Holly building, which houses the engineering and physics departments, during end-of-term exams. It caused panic among students and faculty. Police released a brief still image of the suspect walking briskly after the shooting, while the weapon used has not yet been recovered.
Brown University declared a state of emergency and closed its buildings, urging everyone to take shelter. Rescue and ambulance teams were deployed across the campus. University President Christina Paxson confirmed that 10 of the 11 victims were students.
US President Donald Trump described the incident as horrific, urging everyone to pray for the victims. Local officials confirmed that some of the injured were in critical but stable condition.
