Ankara, Turkey – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced on Saturday that Turkey is ready to do “its part” in the peace efforts related to the Gaza Strip. He confirmed Ankara’s readiness to participate in the proposed international stabilization force.
During his participation in the Doha Forum 2025, Fidan responded to a question about the possibility of sending Turkish soldiers to Gaza, saying: “Türkiye is ready to contribute to the ongoing peace efforts in which everyone is involved.”
He stressed the need for realism in defining the force’s mission, explaining that discussions are still ongoing regarding its operational nature, rules of engagement, and the limits of its authority.
He added, “The primary objective of deploying the stabilization force should be to separate Palestinians from Israelis along the border.” He noted that the force cannot operate in isolation from institutional support. He called for training Palestinian internal security forces, establishing an effective local administration, and creating a peace council to oversee the transitional phase.
